The Indiana College Substance Use Survey (ICSUS) informs decision makers about IUPUI students’ substance use and mental health in order to enhance campus risk reduction and prevention programs. Topics include alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs (ATOD), consequences from substance use, availability, peer attitudes and norms, age of first use, recovery status, mental health, and gambling behavior. The statewide survey is funded by the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction (DMHA), administered by the IU-Bloomington School of Public Health, and implemented at IUPUI by Health and Wellness Promotion in the Division of Student Affairs. Results are used to determine program effectiveness in ATOD prevention, and reported in the Biennial Review Report for federal compliance (EDGAR Part 86).
